When you bring your dog or cat in for their checkup at Cedar Animal Medical Center, your pet will receive a full “nose-to-tail” diagnostic physical that can help catch issues early, treat current conditions, and prevent health challenges from developing.
What’s Included in a Wellness Exam?
Coat & Skin
During your pet's physical checkup, we will examine their skin or coat for signs of common issues, such as dandruff, lumps, bumps, and abnormal hair loss.
Face & Head
Your pet's eyes, ears, nose, and mouth will be examined for abnormalities or discharge, as well as for symptoms of oral health problems.
Internal Health
Comprehensive internal health exams include checks of heart rate, blood pressure, and organ function to keep your pet’s essential systems in top shape.
Vaccinations & Prevention
Your pet’s exam will also include a review of vaccine schedule and preventative care needs and nutritional care needs.

As part of our commitment to your pet's ongoing health and well-being, Cedar Animal Medical Center offers our new clients a $25 first routine exam with our animal hospital.

How often does my pet need an exam?
Most healthy pets should have a yearly exam, but young kittens and puppies or senior pets will need more frequent check ups. If your pet has a condition that requires treatment, follow-up visits may be an essential part of the treatment plan.

I think something is wrong with my pet. Should I schedule a wellness exam?
If your pet is bleeding, appears to be in pain, has trouble breathing, has eaten something toxic, or displays other concerning symptoms, then your pet may require urgent treatment. Please call (505) 722-7786 if your pet needs emergency care.
